Flooded Gum is a lovely reddish brown timber with tinges of pink and is also called Rose Gum -EUCALYPTUS GRANDIS. It is a large hardwood that grows in the moist soils along the east coast of Australia, ranging from New South Wales up to northern Queensland.
The timber is pink to pale red-brown, with the sapwood not clearly distinguishable. The grain is straight and the texture is moderately course and even. The timber often features the work of the ‘scribbly borer’ – an insect that leaves a small trail mark in a weaving or scribbling pattern as it frequents the tree.
Flooded Gum is best for use in Flooring and it accepts stains well.
We have it available in wide-board flooring up to 180mm.
A beautiful dense and durable timber, perfect for flooring with a Janka rating of 7.5
