Grey Ironbark Overlay Flooring

Grey Ironbark is a beautiful mid brown to chocolate brown colour. The texture is moderately coarse and even, with interlocking grain. It is a premium native hardwood that has always been a highly regarded timber. Indigenous Australians use it to make spear throwers and boil its bark for treating sores.
It is a particularly hard, strong and durable timber, with a broad range of applications, due to its resistance to lyctid borers and termites.

Ironbarks are a very characteristic group of trees, aptly named after their thick, compact and hard bark. The commercially available Ironbark species are divided into Grey and Red Ironbarks. Trees grow in north central Victoria, on the inland slopes of New South Wales and occasionally in the coastal districts of Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
The grey ironbark is a medium sized tree of 30 to 50m with a stem diameter of 1.5m. The bark is hard, coarse, with deep furrows and ridges, ranging from dark brown to black in colour and grows even on the small branches.
