Silvertop Ash

As timbers go, they don’t come much better than Silvertop Ash. A beautifully coloured Silvertop Ash timber that is a warm nut brown colour with tinges of muddy yellowish brown. This Specie is proving to be one of the most popular and attractive flooring, cladding and decking timbers around the country. One of the most appealing aspects of Silvertop top timber is the interesting range of natural characteristics and insect trails that occur as a result of Australia’s harsh climate.

The texture of Silvertop timber is medium to fine. The grain is mainly straight but occasionally interlocked and can show gum veins. Silvertop is often peppered with insect markings and gum veins which is a ssilvertop 4tandard characteristic of Eucalypts grown in South-East Australia. These features blend just right with its closed grain allowing designers and home owners to create a stunning natural look, not dissimilar to recycled decking.
Silvertop grows in southern NSW and Victoria and is kiln dried specifically to match the high demands of flooring, cladding and decking. This timber is very hard with an above average Janka hardness rating of 8.5, making it a great choice for both residential and commercial applications. Lovely when used in flooring, decking, tables and bench tops, dressed timber and cladding. Silvertop accepts stains and lighter lime wash very well.
